“THE HONORABLE WOMAN” Nabs 3 Critics’ Choice Television Award Nominations
The Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) announced the Critics’ Choice Television Award nominations today, and SundanceTV’s THE HONORABLE WOMAN nabbed nominations for the show as Best Limited Series, Maggie Gyllenhaal for Best Actress in a Movie or Limited Series, and Janet McTeer for Best Supporting Actress in a Movie or Limited Series.
Gyllenhaal is up against Aunjanue Ellis (The Book of Negroes), Felicity Huffman (American Crime), Frances McDormand (Olive Kitteridge), Jessica Lange (American Horror Story: Freak Show) and Queen Latifah (Bessie).
Gyllenhaal previously won a Golden Globe for her role in THE HONORABLE WOMAN. She was also nominated for an Oscar for her supporting role in Crazy Heart, and for two Golden Globes for her performances in Sherrybaby and Secretary.
McTeer is up against Claire Foy, (Wolf Hall) Cynthia Nixon (Stockholm, Pennsylvania), Khandi Alexander (Bessie), Mo’Nique (Bessie) and Sarah Paulson, (American Horror Story: Freak Show).
McTeer earned Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for Into the Storm and an additional Golden Globe nomination for The White Queen. She was nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award for Tumbleweeds, which won her the Golden Globe in that category. She received Academy Award and Golden Globe Supporting Actress nominations for Albert Nobbs as well.
Also nominated from SundanceTV was Aden Young as Best Actor for his work in RECTIFY.
The 5th annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards will be broadcast live on Sun., May 31, 2015 at 8 ET/5 PT.
