SundanceTV’s “RECTIFY” and “THE HONORABLE WOMAN” Win Peabody Awards
SundanceTV’s “visually rich, densely-plotted thriller” THE HONORABLE WOMAN and its “powerful, subtle” series RECTIFY were each honored with a Peabody Award, it was announced today. This marks the first time the network has won two Peabody Awards in the same year. Previously Peabody Award winners for SundanceTV include THE RETURNED (2014), BRICK CITY (2010), NIMROD NATION (2008), and THE STAIRCASE (2005).
The 17-member Peabody Board have to vote unanimously on all recipients. This year they named a total of 40 recipients from 1,200 entries. Our honors are in the category of arts and entertainment.
The Peabody Awards, the oldest in electronic media, are considered among the most prestigious and selective prizes. The Peabodys recognize excellence and meritorious work by radio and television stations, networks, webcasters, producing organizations and individuals. The Peabody Board is a distinguished panel of television critics, industry practitioners and experts in culture and the arts.
The 74th Annual George Foster Peabody Awards will be hosted by Fred Armisen and presented on Sun., May 31 at Cipriani Wall Street in NYC.
