Vittorio Radice is a thirty-year retail veteran and the CEO of Italy’s largest department store chain La Rinascente. Born in 1957 and raised near Lake Como, Italy, Vittorio was the son of a furniture retailer. Although Vittorio rebelled by studying agriculture in Milan, he couldn’t avoid following his father’s footsteps into the retail world, ending up working for the American Merchandising Corporation as a buyer. Vittorio went on to London where he worked for retailer Habitat and then Selfridges, a slumping British department store that he revamped into a trendsetter. He moved back to Italy in 2005 to take over La Rinascente, changing their flagship store in Milan into a “design supermarket” and is continuing to alter the way stores serve their customers.
