Sydney-artist Anna-Wili Highfield is the daughter of puppeteers, so crafting odd materials into living creatures is nothing new for her! Anna-Wili graduated from the National Art School and worked for a couple years as a scenic artist for Opera Australia. After painting and making pipe sculptures, Anna-Wili moved on to sewing paper birds with a fairy wren for her unborn daughter.
Anna-Wili’s work has been in exhibitions around Sydney as well as featured in the Australian editions of Voge, Belle, and InStyle. A process driven artist, Anna-Wili lets the material guide her in the intuitive and natural creation of her paper sculptures.
