Liar Recap: Episode 103 (White Rabbit)
Laura (Joanne Froggatt) wakes up from a nightmare in which Andrew (Ioan Gruffudd) throttles her.
Laura informs Katy (Zoë Tapper) that she’s moving back to her apartment so that she can move on with her life.
Back in her apartment, Laura has a flashback to her date with Andrew: Andrew laughs at her for owning a stuffed animal bunny.
Dennis Walters (Peter Davison) meets with Andrew and tells him that Laura accused him of sexual harassment when she taught at the school where he was headmaster. He says that his name was eventually cleared.
Makeda (Tsion Habte), a student at Laura’s school, quietly grabs a package delivered to her family’s home. In the school bathroom, she opens the package and takes the abortion pills inside.
Laura rescues Luke (Jamie Flatters) from bullies at school. He tells her that kids are bullying him because of the rape accusation.
Dennis tells Detectives Harmon (Shelley Conn) and Maxwell (Danny Webb) about Laura’s sexual harassment accusation and says that she withdrew the complaint.
Andrew asks Detectives Harmon and Maxwell if Dennis’s statement changes his case. Detective Harmon merely says the investigation is ongoing. She privately tells Detective Maxwell that the Crown Prosecution Service will probably take Dennis’s statement into account, despite being unrelated.
Laura searches for her missing earring in her car. She receives a text from Dennis, “The truth will out. Dennis.”
Laura calls Tom (Warren Brown) and worries that she left her earring at Andrew’s home. She also worries that no one will believe her rape accusation once they learn she dropped her accusation against Dennis.
At a cafe, Liam (Richie Campbell) overhears a woman telling her friends that she suspects her husband of having an affair because he stays out late and buys her a lot of gifts. Liam remembers the concert tickets from Katy.
Laura talks to Dennis on the phone. Dennis complains how easy it is for women to accuse men of rape. She hangs up on him.
At school, Laura sees blood on Makeda’s leg and guesses that she’s pregnant. Makeda begs Laura not to tell her father.
At a pub, Dennis describes the sexual harassment incident to Andrew. Andrew immediately leaves when he realizes that Dennis did in fact harass Laura.
Laura brings Makeda to the hospital. Makeda asks her to find Luke, who is the baby’s father.
Detective Harmon unsuccessfully tries to argue for Laura’s case with CPS. She calls Laura to inform her that CPS is declining to prosecute her case. Laura blames Dennis.
Laura finds Luke at home and tells him about Makeda. She asks to use the bathroom then secretly looks for her earring in Andrew’s bedroom.
Tom asks Detective Harmon if she investigated Andrew’s ex-wife’s suicide. Detective Harmon tells him she didn’t find any new leads and that CPS isn’t prosecuting Laura’s case.
Tom threatens Andrew in the street. Andrew warns Tom that he knows about his affair with Katy.
Laura takes Luke to see Makeda at the hospital. Makeda worries that her father will send her back to Ethiopia, as he did with her sister for dating someone. She begs Luke and Laura to have Andrew tell her father that she fainted from dehydration.
Tom calls Katy to tell her that Andrew knows about their affair and will expose them if he feels threatened.
Laura waits for Andrew at the hospital. In a flashback to their date, she kisses Andrew. Back in the present, Laura asks Andrew to tell Makeda’s father that she fainted from dehydration. Andrew refuses. Laura beseeches him to do the right thing for Luke’s sake.
Liam asks Katy if she’s having an affair. He sighs with relief when Katy denies it.
As Laura wheels Makeda out of the hospital in a wheelchair, Andrew tells Makeda’s father that Makeda had been dehydrated.
Detective Harmon visits Andrew at home and informs him that CPS is not prosecuting the case. Andrew invites her out for a celebratory drink. “I don’t drink with men who rape women,” she says.
Detective Harmon visits Laura at work and informs her about the suspicions over Andrew’s ex-wife’s suicide. She warns Laura that Andrew may be dangerous.
Andrew informs Luke that the rape charges are being dropped. Luke worries that the accusation will mar Andrew’s reputation.
Laura tells Katy about Detective Harmon’s warning. Katy firmly urges Laura to leave Andrew alone.
In a flashback to the date, Andrew pours wine at Laura’s apartment and slips some pills into Laura’s drink.
Andrew meets with a lawyer to discuss suing Laura for defamation of character.
Laura arrives home and finds the missing earring attached to the ear of her stuffed bunny.
