For Emily George, the bar has always been about family. During her formative years her grandparents owned an Italian restaurant in La Crosse, WI where her Mom & Dad worked and she and her brother played. Although she has lived many places and worked many jobs from Congressional intern to residential and commercial flooring sales she always comes home to restaurants.
Emily started her career in restaurants and behind bars in her college town of Indianola, IA. Although the mixology movement hadn’t yet reached Iowa at the time Emily caught the passion for the craft of bartending and for making life-long friends from across the bar. When Emily moved to Ohio she stayed with restaurants and found new opportunities to develop her skills as a mixologist. Through her bartending experiences in Ohio, Emily has become a supporter of fresh and inventive ingredients in bartending but retains a strong respect for the classics and fundamentals of the business. Should you ever find yourself at Emily’s bar she’ll be just as happy to craft you a signature cocktail as to give you a hug and hear all about your day.
