Duane Fernandez Jr. – New York City mixologist with 7 years in the industry - has transitioned himself from an urban New York native to one of New York City's most featured bartenders. An active member of the U.S. Bartenders’ Guild, Duane has maneuvered in a field that is globally recognized and garnered much attention with his creative concoctions.
His own recipes, both visual and palatable, have received accolades from GQ, Timeout New York, The New York Times, Vh1 Morning Buzz and The Evening News with Chuck Scarborough. He has residency on two Sirius radio stations including Martha Stewart Living, and also cocktails in the 75th Mr. Boston bartenders guide and Gaz Regan’s annual manual. Duane’s specialty is utilizing unique ingredients that really capitalize on the flavor of whatever spirit he works with. Playing on the culinary cocktail trend, Duane has experimented with various elements in his cocktails including condiments, meat infusions, and muddled vegetables. Mr. Fernandez was a top finalist on Season 2 of the NBC bartender reality show, The Search for America’s Top Bartender. Mr. Fernandez intends to continue his pursuit of creating cocktails and the branding of his name as America's Top Mixologist. In the meantime, he spends his time consulting, building cocktail menus, and spreading brand education for quality products that he truly believes in.
