Sundance Institute Connects With Kickstarter, Facebook

Looks like it just got easier for new filmmakers to raise money and promote their projects. The Sundance Institute has announced plans to team up with online crowdfunding company Kickstarter to help the Institute’s artists and alumni – including lab participants, grant recipients and festival filmmakers – place their projects on with Sundance branding and social media support. The Institute has also partnered with Facebook to launch a series of hands-on workshops for Institute alumni so that they can learn to take advantage of social media tools and apps in order to promote their work. The first Facebook-led workshop took place earlier this week at the Sundance Film Festival. IndeWIRE has details on the deal.
