Kim Masters

We’re excited to have two guest bloggers join us this year as we cover the Festival: Kim Masters and Ryan Kearney. Kim and Ryan will be blogging during the entire Sundance Film Festival and will bring you unique access each day from Park City.

Some of you may know Kim from her days on NPR and as a contributing editor at Time, Esquire and Vanity Fair. Or maybe you’ve caught her work in the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, the Boston Globe or the Philadelphia Inquirer. She’s written several authoritative books on the entertainment industry including The Keys to the Kingdom: The Rise of Michael Eisner and the Fall of Everybody Else (2000, HarperCollins) and was co-author with Nancy Griffin of the best-selling and award-winning Hit & Run: How Jon Peters and Peter Guber Took Sony for a Ride in Hollywood (1996, Simon & Schuster). We’re thrilled to have her on board with us and she’ll be covering the scene from many perspectives: seller, buyer, filmmaker and as an attendee.

Ryan Kearney is a former staff writer, editor, and critic for several newspapers in the Boston area, as well as the alt-weekly New Haven Advocate and the music website, Pitchforkmedia.com. He is currently at work on a travel memoir set in Latin America. Ryan will provide a glimpse into the daily experience at the Sundance Film Festival, including the parties, music scene, films, buzz and some of the undiscovered stories of life in Park City.
