This week we’re featuring just one trailer, and yeah, full disclosure, it made its debut at Sundance, but with record walkouts and a tangle of incredibly divisive reviews, it’s not exactly what you would call a Sundance success story. It could be argued, however, that the notoriety its initial screening incited is only to its benefit, and now that the trailer is out and it’ll be On Demand in just about a month, the people are talking…
With today’s release of SHUT UP, LITTLE MAN and OUR IDIOT BROTHER, it’s officially a Sundance festival weekend! Regardless of my obvious affiliation and personal bias, I’m pretty darn excited for these two, so excited, in fact, that I actually used an exclamation mark to express myself (I never do that). I didn’t go to the festival last January and aside from these two trailers, not a teaser or clip have I seen.
It’s pretty much the weekend, one of three remaining August weekends before we hit Labor Day and move into Fall, I might add, so it’s time to start wrapping up our summer movie to-see lists and look ahead at what’s coming next. Out of the latest batch of recently released trailers I noticed a trend towards parenting movies, and while these three films all involve adults raising children, they couldn’t be less alike.
