Sundance Channel announced today that it has acquired US broadcast rights to the supernatural drama THE RETURNED from Music Box Films. The eight-part French series distributed by Zodiak Rights was created by Fabrice Gobert and is based on the feature film Les Revenants by Robin Campillo. It will premiere on Sundance Channel on Halloween, Thursday, October 31st at 9PM ET/PT. It will air every Thursday night at 9PM.

The critically received series was a smash hit for France’s Canal+ and the UK’s Channel 4. The New York Times recently profiled outstanding foreign drama series and pronounced it “fresh and unexpected.” The Independent wrote “THE RETURNED…is actually one of the greatest, creepiest, most compelling shows brought to…TV screens in 2013,” and The Daily Telegraph commented, “Probably the most stylish thing you’ll see on TV this year.”

Sundance Channel announced today the cast and start of production for its gripping new original scripted series THE RED ROAD. The full cast includes Martin Henderson (Devil’s Knot, The Ring, Smokin’ Aces), Jason Momoa (Wolves, “Game of Thrones”), Julianne Nicholson (August: Osage County, “Boardwalk Empire”). Tamara Tunie (“Law and Order: Special Victim’s Unit,” “The Good Wife”), Annalise Basso (Oculus, Standing Up) Allie Gonino (“The Lying Game,” Hidden Away), Kiowa Gordon (The Twilight Saga, Wind Walkers) and Golden Globe® nominee Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor, Heat). Production will begin in Atlanta on August 19th.

The Cannes Film Festival is the doyenne of all film festivals. It has kept the attention of film industry and it’s supporters for sixty-five years and has no signs of slowing down. And with an abundance of red carpets opportunities, after parties, and the usual fare of celebrities reveling in the beauty of the Riviera, it’s a perfect photo opportunity for paparazzi and stars a like. Fortunately, there are plenty of smart tuxedos and evening dresses to go around. The feel in the air so far has been a return to Hollywood drama. Full-length gowns with delicate beading, and the occasional train, have graced premieres at Cannes since the late 1950′s. For men, beards and mustaches were de rigeur, as was combing back of the hair. A sort of wet look to accent the sharp lines of their suits, and the soft curves accented in their counterparts’ dresses. Of course there was plenty of cheeky behavior to be captured. But this is a family website……
