Author William Boyd gets RESTLESS, takes on 007 in new novel
William Boyd just got his license to kill – fresh off working on the critically-acclaimed screen adaptation of his WWII spy novel RESTLESS, the author’s been tapped by Ian Fleming’s estate to pen the next entry in the James Bond franchise. Our congrats to him on reeling in MI6′s master spy.
The BBC reports that the new novel will feature a slightly older Bond, and after the 2011 novel Carte Blanche gave the literary series a modern “reboot”, Boyd’s upcoming novel will return the series to its 1960′s roots. Diehard Bond fans disappointed in the previous novel’s modern update should be chuffed to see him return to the era that made his character the man’s man of spy style.
Watch for the novel later this year, and in the meantime get yourself in the mood for espionage with William Boyd’s RESTLESS, airing in an encore presentation this Thursday, February 21 at 8P E/P.
