Now Playing on Sundance Channel: CASSANDRA'S DREAM, VICTIM and THE DEEP END

This week on Sundance Channel, it’s murder most foul with three films that take a decidedly different approach to exploring crime and punishment. Throw in heavy a bout of soul-searching, a healthy dollop of high-intensity thrills and a creepy doctor or two and you’ve got yourself some serious watching.

If there’s one thing movies have taught us, it’s that you don’t mess with the families of renowned surgeons. Drugs combined with those kinds of knife skills… you get the picture. In VICTIM, the daughter of a surgeon is brutally assaulted. When he finds her attacker, you can almost guess what happens next — although you might not want to.
VICTIM, this week on WTF, Thursday at Midnight

Tilda Swinton plays the mother of a gay teen in THE DEEP END. One day, she wakes up to find the body of his secret lover on the beach near their home — the victim of an accident that everybody (naturally) assumes is murder. The events that follow reveal societal and institutional prejudices that nearly ruin the family. Will blackmail over the boy’s relationship lead to even more violence?
THE DEEP END, this week on Robert Redford Presents, Saturday at 8P

In probably the most unbelievable premise of any of these three films, Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell are in some dire financial straits. Eh, just bear with us here. The two play brothers in Woody Allen’s Coen Brothers-esque morality tale of lies that spiral out of control into murder… and then… more murder? It’s just money, people!
