APPROPRIATE ADULT sweeps BAFTA actor honors

What did you do Memorial Day weekend? Oh, you didn’t stay in and watch the BAFTAs on Sunday night? And you don’t know what the BAFTAs are? Well, it’s the annual awards celebration for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (so, it’s like the Emmy Awards). Anyway, on Sunday the cast of the Sundance Channel original drama APPROPRIATE ADULT, the story of British serial killer Fred West and his relationship with his appropriate adult, Janet Leach, swept the acting awards. Dominic West snagged best actor, Emily Watson took home best actress and Monica Dolan won best supporting actress for her portrayal of Rosemary West. Check out their acceptance speeches here.

Try not to feel too bad for Sherlock’s Benedict Cumberbatch. He was the odds-on favorite to win best actor…so much so that even Dominic West’s sister was rooting for him! And, his nomination gives me a chance to post one of my favorite things ever, Otters Who Look Like Benedict Cumberbatch.
