This week’s top five trending videos: stars the best-worst dancer ever

As I’ve said before, you can’t fail with a cute animal as your opening act on the Internet. Regular readers should know my dog-centric preferences in this regards, but this week’s lead in the number five slot stars the otter, our favorite floating-on-their-back creature. Otters previously went virally popular for the fact they hold hands in the water to prevent each other from floating away in rough waters (cue the “awww’s”).

5. This video of a baby rescue otter squealing in delight (or how humans would interpret as delight) is so otterly cute my ear drums exploded. They’re like the pandas of the sea.

4. You ca-razy if you thought I wasn’t going to include a video starring man’s best friend. Going viral this week is this video of dogs in Tompkins Square Park mellowing out to the soothing music of Cass McCombs, “County Line.”

3. My imagined dialogue for one of the guys in this video at a cocktail party making small talk:

“What do you do for a living?”
“You know, nothing too wild. Just fighting with swords that are ON FIRE. You?”
“Me? I just work in CRM….ON FIRE.”

2. All the fails you can handle in one easy video in the March wrap up of fail moments on YouTube. Prepare yourself for a lot of “ahhh ouch” and “oh snappppp” and “dayammmmns!” Based on these clips I would think that humans might just be better off if we couldn’t jump. That or we have way too much free time as a society.

1. One dancer is not like all the other dancers auditioning for a Kimberly Cole music video. Stick with the video because the payoff is pretty great, especially starting around the 0:50 mark. The cynical marketer in me can’t help but wonder if this is actually a viral campaign for the artist, but even if it is, it’s still pretty expletive amazing and uplifting at how everyone seemed to eventually warm up to him! Oh and in case you’re wondering, yes he got selected for the music video via a tweet from Kimberly Cole. For this reason plus the amazing dancing, this video went insanely viral this week and is the number one selection for this week. Now on to the weekend!
