Jeff Sheng's DADT portraits
As the battle around Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Heats back up CNN has this great visual slide-show of photographer Jeff Sheng‘s portraits of gay military men and women. The photos don’t reveal the identities of the subjects, and in doing so saves them from the repercussions of possibly losing their jobs. These faceless portraits look like any other soldier, in fatigues and uniforms, stationed across the world. But their faceless photos highlight the ridiculousness of DADT, where men and women risk their lives for a country that values them less than their counterparts.
