Put A Egg On It
The makers of Put A Egg On It, the quirky zine about food, are not your typical foodies. Sarah Keough and Ralph McGinnis are artists, not food writers. But the coupling of their unique design sensibilities with the subject matter of food has created a rather unique zine. It’s like The Joy of Cooking for poor Brooklynites. It’s smart, easy to look at, and funny. And it has bean recipes!
They say: “Put A Egg On It is an irreverent digest-sized art and literary magazine out of New York City about food, cooking and the communal joys of eating with friends and family. The magazine features essays, photo essays and illustrations as well as practical cooking tips and recipes.”
An added fun fact is that they used Kickstarter, a fantastic start-up used to fund creative ideas and ambitious endeavors.
