“Thirty Days NY” is like the most amazing pop-up shop you’ve ever been too. Of course I say this without ever having visited as it doesn’t open until tomorrow, but with a line up that boasts some of the most talented artists working today, how can it be anything less than amazing? In their own words “Thirty Days will feature weekly performances, symposiums and showcases from contemporary artists, musicians, writers and filmmakers from all over the world.” It kicks off with a light show courtesy of Gary Panter and Joshua White and opens with the month-long show “King King: Art from Los Angeles,” featuring work from Rodarte, Autumn de Wilde, Geoff McFetridge and Pablo Ferro, the “genius” (so says Kubrick) behind the titles of DR. STRANGELOVE, BEETLEJUICE and A CLOCKWORK ORANGE. The rest of the month looks equally exciting with a film by Lance Bangs and a conversation between Peter Sutherland and personal hero Albert Maysles.
Thirty Days NY is located at 70 Franklin St. in Tribeca. Opening reception tomorrow, April 8th at 7pm.
