Tea Party crashers!

If Jason Levin’s plan is successful, the Tea Party just got a bit wilder with some uninvited party crashers at their rallies and protests. Levin, an Oregon technology consultant, is spearheading the “Crash the Tea Party” movement which is encouraging people to join the tea party’s public gatherings where they’ll be indistinguishable except for one thing: they’ll out-crazy the most crazy.

“Our goal is that whenever a tea partier says ‘Barack Obama was not born in America,’ we’re going be right right there next to them saying, ‘yeah, in fact he wasn’t born on Earth! He’s an alien!” Levin explained. He said that by making the tea parties sound like a gathering of crazy people — his group’s goal — the movement will lose its power.

While the effectiveness of this approach can be debated and the actual number of participants is unknown, this entry is a perfect segue to this: BuzzFeed’s 24 best fake (or maybe the most honest and truthful?) signs at the Tea Party rally in Boston on April 15.
