Scissor Sisters' Invisible Light

A few weeks back I wrote about the Scissor Sisters’ show at Bowery Ballroom here in Manhattan. The super-gay band of misfits have announced their upcoming album and have debuted a track from it, “Invisible Light.” The album Night Work is not out until the end of June, but I am jonesing hard for it now after listening to this debut single. “Invisible Light” is dark and sexy. Equal parts Fischer Spooner and Bee Gees, with a spoken word middle not unlike “Thriller,” the track is less schlocky, Elton-esque pop and more dirty, pulsing club music. And since the Sisters got their starts at gay clubs in SF and NYC, it is a welcome return to form. You almost get the smell of sex after repeated listens.
