Grindr blocking

While television pundits and lawyers in California continue to keep gay rights and marriage inequality in our minds I’d like to point out that it is not that bad being gay. Especially being a gay man. There is this thing called casual sex. And we’re really good at it. We have bath houses and saunas dedicated to hooking up. And, yes, we have websites. While the straights worry about their Match.com profiles, we’re busy cruising shirtless guys on Manhunt. Well, not all of us. I have a boyfriend. But, you know, I’ve heard.

Now there is Grindr. Grindr is an iPhone app that allows you to see, in real time, who looking for sex is closest to you. Yes, it will often say “18 feet away.” Scary? Exciting? Your call.

And of course some witty queen with a blog has created Guys I Blocked on Grindr, a series of images of the guys who didn’t get lucky. It’s really wrong. But in that horrible, cringing good way.
