With the new year quickly approaching, you may be thinking about changes you’ll want to make in 2010… and food issues may be high on your resolution priority list. Eat more fruits and vegetables… stay away from junk food… cook more… the list goes on and on…

Of course, your food resolutions may overlap with green ones: eat more organic food, buy at farmers markets, or start a garden. If that’s the case, Whole Foods has launched a Facebook app that may be helpful. In partnership with Health Magazine and Odwalla, Whole Foods’ “This is my year to…” app gives you three options for green eating resolutions:

  • Know Where My Food Comes From
  • Choose Organic
  • Share My Plate

When you choose one of these intentions from the list, you’re not just committing yourself to healthier and more earth-friendly food choices; you’re also voting for a non-profit that supports that specific resolution. The application sponsors have also made a pledge: they’ll give $10,000 to the organization that receives the most votes. Your choices are (and these correspond directly to the resolutions list)
