Digital pop-up book

Electronic Popables” is an impressive interactive pop-up book built by Ji Qui, a mechnical engineering senior at Columbia University, that bridges the traditional three-dimensional qualities of a typical pop-up book with an added modern electronic twist. She created this with the assistance of Dr. Leah Buechley while participating in the MIT Media Lab’s “High tech-Low tech group” which “integrates hardware and computation into traditional arts and craft techniques to make engineering more friendly” and “…engage the traditional users of technology in becoming its creators.” Did you also feel super unproductive and not smart after watching this video demonstration of Qui’s book?
