Zero Film Festival

The Zero Film Festival is a virtually recession proof affair. Tonight at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn, five NY-based, self-financed filmmakers will premier their work. But don’t let the words “low-budget” deter you. These aren’t newbies. Timothy Saccenti, for example, has directed music videos for Animal Collective and Chairlift. Guy Ben-Ner shot “Stealing Beauty” at IKEA during store hours and Ali Raza has worked with Devendra Banhart, Kim Gordon and Chloe Sevigny. You can see their films along with work from Victor Varnado and Aaron Katz for only $10. The call for entries is still open for their December festival.
